At our Auction 8 – A few szóstak coins of Jan III Sobieski

Published by RDA on

At the end of the day, a few szóstak coins od Jan III Sobieski’s from the upcoming auction.

The standout items are the szóstak from 1683 in the high MS63 note – a great item with an intense mint shine. There is also an undescribed by Kamiński and Kurpiewski szóstak coin 1681 from the mint in Bydgoszcz with a copy of the IOAO/N legend. Additionally, in the denomination of the face value on the reverse, the number V is stamped on the originally incorrectly positioned I. Also an excellent, circumstantial specimen, which we have described for condition 1- due to the micro scratches in the background.

The auction will also feature an excellent Kraków szóstak from 1681, which in the Kamiński-Kurpiewski catalog was highly rated on the R6. A copy of mint freshness with details. Minus awarded for minor scratches.

Finally, two beautiful szóstak coins – one with the Leliwa coat of arms, and the other Jelita under the royal Janina coat of arms.
