At our Auction 17 – Medal minted on the 50th anniversary of the November Uprising
A beautiful, rare, symbolic and extremely meaningful medal minted on the 50th anniversary of the November Uprising. A typologically rare item, and very rare in this condition.
Medal by W. A. Malinowski (signed on the obverse). Centrally, the figure of Polonia, personification of the Kingdom of Poland. In her hand she holds a sword and a banner with the slogan “Za waszą i naszą wolność” (“For your and our freedom”). Surrounded in Latin: USQUE AD FINEM (until the end).
On the reverse, in an oak and laurel wreath, an inscription in six lines: POLSKA | BOHATEROM POWSTANIA|LISTOPADOWEGO|W|PIĘĆDZIESIĘCIOLETNIĄ|ROCZNICĘ.
