Such a fragment of a coin (in this case, a bracteate) is also a valuable souvenir from the history of Polish coinage. A very rare bracteate minted in connection with the death of Casimir the Just in 1194. or the son of Mieszko III the Old – Bolesław in the battle of Mozgawa (1195).

The piece shows a figure lying at the bottom, over which a tombstone with the Hebrew inscription BRACHA (ברכוה – blessing) was placed, at the top a raven as a symbol of death. Witold Garbaczewski interprets not the raven but the eagle, paying attention to the curved beak, characteristic of birds of prey.

Only part of the coin has been preserved (very well legible), but even in this condition it is a rarity, worthy of collection. We definitely recommend it.
