At our Auction 10 – The trojak coin of Sigismund III Vasa from the mint in Olkusz, minted in 1590

Published by RDA on

It is possible that the trojak presented below is a unique coin. Probably the only one on the collector’s market in such a variety. Here is the trojak of Sigismund III Vasa from the mint in Olkusz minted in 1590. The uniqueness of this coin is evidenced by the fact that it is probably the only specimen in a variation with the Lewart coat of arms in a decorative rather than a simple coat of arms.

In specialized catalogs of the year 1590, we can only see simple or ornamental-oval shields. However, what is most interesting, we will not find such a shield in any other year of Olkusz trojak coins.

The lack of auction quotations and the lack of quotations in catalogs of famous authors confirm the extreme rarity of this item.
