At our Auction 7 – denarius of Bolesław IV the Curly (two naked swords)

Published by RDA on

When we describe coins, we can sometimes surprise ourselves. This is also the case this time. How about “two naked swords”?

Stronczyński does not note such a variant, and there is no such variant in the OneBid archive either

And the description of the coin itself:

Obverse: along a double pearl edge a prince with an uncovered head, holding a shield
and a gonfanon, standing in front of it, mint marks, a dot and a crescent in the fields.

Reverse: along the pearl ring, two brothers at the table raise a goblet together, and a mint mark in the form of two swords between their legs.

Already in April, this flavor will change hands (and it will not be the only denarius of
Bolesław IV the Curly in our offer).
